The Blue Chair Project – a web series about women and the choices they make. 

Launching Fall 2013

Ripe Time is passionate about creating beautifully complex portraits of women on stage. The stories of Lily Bart, Clarissa Dalloway, and the many other iconic women from world literature who weʼve put center stage in our more than ten years of producing theatre have inspired us to reflect upon real life tales of tackling personal adversity today.

Our newest project, The World is Round, centers on Rose, an independent-minded girl who discovers the pitfalls and rewards of ambition in trying to climb a mountain. Just as a blue chair is Roseʼs necessary talisman on her journey, we aim to look at what it is that women from all social strata need by their side to surmount the “mountains” in their own lives. The Blue Chair project celebrates New York Cityʼs diverse array of women who make dangerous and compelling choices to reach seemingly insurmountable heights.
